Piksy puts out mixtape in preparation for new album


Award-winning singer and songwriter Piksy is making a return to active music after a hiatus and is set to release new music on Wednesday.

The music is a compilation of songs the hit-maker has been working on since his last album Mthunzi in 2015.

The first single to be put out is Obvious in which he features Tanzanian artist Big Jay P of Outline Entertainment and Daredevil’s producer/singer GD.

Obvious will be premiered on Joy Nathu’s flagship show on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation FM 2 on Monday.

Piksy has described the compilation as balanced, adding that “listeners of different age groups will find it perfect for their different moods and occasions.”

The artist's manager Wisdom Phanga described the compilation as mesmerising.

Phanga divulged that the compilation is an appetiser for Piksy’s upcoming album whose details are yet to be announced

“To keep fans waiting, Piksy has decided to compile all the songs that were recorded and released and those that were never released.”

Phanga said fans who would like to grab the first copies of the compilation should make their way to Doogles Lodge on Thursday where Piksy will perform alongside his Langwan Movement Band and Active X Band.

The compilation will have 19 songs, including hits like Umakwana, Kameneka, Somebody and 40.

Some of the artists who are making guest appearances are Stich Fray, San B, Kell Kay, Authenga Atatu.
