The final set of the 2019 Wakaa! Airtel Top Eight Cup became complete on Tuesday following Silver Strikers' 1-0 win over Be Forward Wanderers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe in the second leg of the cup, while Masters progressed through an away goal advantage after their 1-0 win at home.

The two Central Region teams will meet in the second semi-final while Mzuni will face fellow Northern region outfit Karonga United in the first semi-final.

Duncan Nyoni scored the lone goal in the 41st minute on Sunday to grant the Bankers a 2-0 aggregate win after the first leg at Kamuzu Stadium ended 1-0 in their favour courtesy of Khuda Muyaba.

No wonder Nyoni was also selected the best player of the day.

In Dedza, Masters only needed a goal to book their place in the semifinal and Bernard Chimaimba made no mistake but make his coach Abbas Makawa proud by sending the ball behind the net in the 41st minute of play.

The match ended 2-2 since Kamuzu Barracks won the first leg match 2-1 at Civo Stadium last week.

This was Wanderers coach Albert Mpinganjira’s first assignment since he took over the task from his brother Bob Mpinganjira who was fired a week ago due to the team’s poor run.

The Nomads lost the first leg under Bob.

Masters’ Cuthbert Sineta was the Man-of-the-match at Dedza.

Both Karonga and Mzuni also qualified through away goal advantages.

On Sunday Mzuni scored through Maxwell Gasteni to cancel Lasten Mwale’s lead at Civo Stadium and qualify to the semifinals.

The first match ended goalless at Mzuzu Stadium.

According to Football Association of Malawi (FAM), the semifinals will be one-ledged.

The association has the mandate to announce dates and venue for the matches.

Wanderers were the only Southern Region representatives in the Cup following the disqualification of league champions Nyasa Big Bullets.

The final match is set for June 29 this year.
