Bullets promote four reserve team players

Goalkeeper Elias Missi has been promoted

With about a month before the kick off of the TNM Super League, Champions Nyasa Big Bullets have promoted four of their reserve side players into the senior team.

Bullets Administration Manager, Albert Chigoga confirmed to Kulinji.com on Thursday that goalkeeper Elias Missi, defenders Chimwemwe Idana, Hasan Kajoke, Charles Petro are the lucky ones following their impressive performance with the junior side.

“Missi has been outstanding with the reserve side including the Nyasa Big Four Bonanza against the foreign teams that we hosted at Kamuzu Stadium recently. The other four have been called at the Malawi Under-20 National Football team several times and we thought this is the time to give them a chance to feature for the senior team. Idana is the captain of the Under-23 side and stories about his great performance in Belgium are everywhere,” Chigoga said.

True to his words, Idana, who is a regular at Flames seems to be in coach Ronny Van Geneugden plan of players he intends to ease into the senior team as he has been included in almost every call up for the senior team.

Meanwhile Chigoga said there are some players that have also been promoted as semi-seniors but refused to reveal their names.

He further said the promotion of the four does not mean they cannot recruit some more players to beef up the squad.

“You know we have signed four players this season and with these four that we have promoted from the junior side, we believe we have a strong squad as recommended by the coach and his staff. However, should another opportunity come up we will not hesitate so bring in more players because our target is to defend the Super League title and grab some tournaments,” he added.

Bullets kick-start their 2019 Super League journey by travelling to Kasungu Stadium to be hosted by TN stars.

Meanwhile Be Forward Wanderers midfielder Enerst Tambe has penned a three-year deal with Silver Strikers.
