Chester joins Flames camp, Mwase upbeat ahead of Lesotho friendlies

United States-based Flames midfielder Yamikani Chester has joined local players in camp ahead of friendly matches against Lesotho this weekend.

The Flames play Lesotho twice on Friday and on Sunday as part of their preparations for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against winner between Seychelles and Sudan.

Chester is the only foreign-based player available in the country as others will join the team in Johannesburg on Thursday when the team is set to depart.

The Flames started camp training om Monday where coach Meke Mwase named a 27-member squad.

Meanwhile Mwase has described the first day performance by the boys as good.

“We let the doctors check the players and resumed training. First day was about warm ups and the boys are all looking fit but we have started on a very good note. We are preparing for AFCON games next month. We need to have a good crop of players. Lesotho is a good side, we hosted them here and they accepted to host us as well as we prepare our boys,” Mwase said.

The team regrouped after booting out Botswana 1-0 on aggregate in the World Cup qualifiers last month.
