Chief suspect in the case of Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) transferring UTM president Saulos Chilima to Chizumulu has died. Sailesi Kampango died on Tuesday at Linthipe 1.
Information reaching Kulinji.com indicates Kampango was on his was to Chikwawa.
He had just appeared at Lilongwe court in the morning hours answering the said charge.
The court is trying to determine whether Kampango deliberately transferred Chilima's name which caused the UTM president delay to vote.
The transfer was deemed cynical by the public at large but MEC distanced itself from any wrong doing saying he was a hired help for the May 21st elections.
MEC chairperson Jane Ansah in an earlier interview with Zodiak broadcasting said the matter was in the hands of police and would not comment on on going investigations.
