Multichoice raves up football fans ahead of World Cup

Multichoice Malawi on Monday took to the streets of Blantyre to galvanize football fans as the FIFA 2022 World Cup is about to start in Qatar.

The parade, led by the Malawi Defense Force band started from Metro in the Central Business District to Kamuzu stadium where a number of activities took place.

Along the way, Multichoice personnel engaged people regarding the World Cup and the need to buy and subscribe to access the football content.

Emma Gichonge, MultiChoice Malawi Managing Director said they wanted people in the streets to rave up and get them into the football spirit.

"We has this parade to interact with people and raise awareness."

Gichonge explained they targeted motorists, pedestrians with their products as the have exclusive rights to beam all the 64 matches on DStv and Gotv.

"This is special because the World Cup happens after four years. 

"We have some big players that are going to be retiring this year, so we want our customers to subscribe and watch them play their last World Cup."

Gichonge disclosed four Malawians' will be going to watch the World Cup in Qatar.

"Some of them are customers while others are partners who have been with us for a longtime."

The Malawi MD said they have a special package for subscribers in terms of pricing.

She emphasized they have made sure they have the best pricing out there.

"For people to watch all matches we have exclusive rights, this is the best pricing you will find for all 64 matches," she said.

FIFA World Cup in Qatar will start on November 20, 2022.
