Malawians debate Mutharika's attempts to capitalise on Tonse Alliance failures

APM

Former president of Malawi, Peter Mutharika will address the country on the country's social-economic state from his Page House in Mangochi on Friday, November 11, 2022.

Malawi is facing a number of crucial crises; fuel, energy, forex, Affordable Input Programme saga, missing maize at Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) rampant and entrenched corruption, high inflation, biting devaluation, high cost of living, extreme poverty levels among a slew of issues.

A number of people commenting on Mutharika speaking on the economic situation have said Tonse Alliance has failed.

Some of commentators said the failures of the Alliance are making Mutharika look like the saviour despite the flaws that led to him and his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to be booted out of power.

Adad nawo afuna ayankhulepo.. tonse alliance has made APM relevant again. He now has the guts to address us 🀣🀣

Being a former makes APM a failure, how? Unless you tell us that the current President is delivering. In terms of micro/ macro economic growth, I still give APM excellent.
It is during his term when saw banks making profits without hindering us. We saw National IDs, Tech Colleges

Others have said Mutharika should be the last person to speak about the social-economic situation

They said what is happening in Malawi is a result of his poor leadership.

Malawi has not been doing well for the past 10 years- World bank country report!, Meaning APM also failed!

As a former president this guy remains a failure. He may try to talk solutions yet he had the chance to implement.
What we currently face is an aftermath of his administration malpractices. He will make the usual noise. Apatseni munda azikalima. He is so irrelevant.
