The Malawi Under-17 and Under-19 handball girls teams are through to the semifinals of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Africa Zone 6 games in South Africa.

The seniors secured outright qualification from Group A after beating Mozambique 30-29 and whacking Sychelles 66-6. They only lost narrowly to eventual group winners Madagascar 19-24.

The juniors however, had lady luck smiling on them as their Group A winners Zambia were disqualified for featuring overaged players.
