While Dedza Dynamos are recovering from an accident that injured some of its players some weeks ago, another tragedy has hit. The club has lost the chairperson of their supporters committee, Akim Kondole, popularly known as Magesh.
According to his close friend, Gerald Kampanikiza, Kondole was involved in an accident on Sunday night just after spending a good time at Dedza Stadium in the afternoon as the team defeated Ekwendeni Hammers 3-2.
“He died on Sunday night June 26th, 2022 after being involved in an accident at Dedza Golf Club while driving his Toyota Quantum minibus going to Dedza Bus Depot Direction with his friends.
“The other passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and they were treated at Dedza district hospital. My life was blessed through your friendship, may you find blessings in the next life, dear friend. We pray the love of God enfolds you during your journey through grief, we send you thoughts of comfort.
“May Your Soul Rest In Peace My Brother Mahesh!!!! Our joys will be greater, our love will deeper, our life will be fuller because we shared your moment,” Kampanikiza posted on his Facebook page.
He said Magesh will be laid to rest on Tuesday at Kanduna Cemetery in the district.
Blue Eagles Football Club also shared their condolences message to Dedza Dynamos.
“Just waking up to the news that Akimu Kondoole Mageshi, Dedza Dynamos FC Supporters Chairman with passion for football and a whole vibe for Dedza Dynamos FC, is no more.
‘We join the football fraternity and Dedza Dynamos FC in particular in mourning Magesh. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace!” Eagles also posted on their Facebook page.
He died aged 39, and hails from Kulemeka village, Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in Dedza district.
