
Train passengers who use Nacala Logistics will have to fork out slightly more as train fares have gone up.
Nacala Logistics in a statement, indicated the prices hike will be effective on October 4, 2022.
"The price increase has been necessitated by increase in operation costs due to rise in inflation, prices of fuel and devaluation in Malawi," reads part of the statement.
The main routes; Limbe to Blantyre will see passengers shelling out K350 and K450 from premier class and business class respectively.
Limbe to Balaka will cost K2,200 and K3,050 for premier and business class.
Reacting to the new prices, Mary Chimwaza said: "Understandable.... still fair."
Harold Gama said the new prices are not bad saying they are "still affordable."
