Lilongwe-based Kufewa Acrobatics Crew has hinted on a new action movie that it is working on.
Abdul Rashid Shaibu, one of the crew members said progress is evident saying more details will follow when production is on course.
“For now, we are not revealing the title of the movie but the movie will revolve around empowering the youth.
“We are working that we should be done by the end of this year but we are not exactly keen on the month seeing that challenges are inevitable.
“There is a lot we are expecting in this project seeing that now people recognize us unlike in the past so I believe we will not have problems with things like marketing,” he said.
Shaibu appealed to the public for support to enable them reach the project goals.
“Those that are willing to support us with the new movie project are welcome because we want to deliver something better than our old movie projects,” he added.
Shaibu expressed worry over how the movie industry in Malawi does not receive much support which discourages people.
“The Malawian movie industry needs a lot of support because when we produce movies locally, our goal is to reach international platforms which is possible when the support is intact,” Shaibu said further.
In 2017, the crew released a movie titled ‘Town Monger’ that went viral online and was about a group of martial artists who noticed a disturbing trend in the lives of children in the city of Lilongwe.
