
Malawi musician Wikise and the fast rising afro star Pop Young on Friday evening spiced up Malawi Cultural Day event held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Malawi High Commission in Tanzania organised the event to promote Malawi culture and as part of Diaspora Engagement.
High Commissioner to Tanzania, Andrew Kumwenda encouraged unity among Malawian's and urged them to continue investing back home.
"Let's always do things together. Remember, unity is important. Let's also not forget investing much in our development projects back home. This is how we can develop Malawi," the High Commissioner.
Wikise and Pop Young thanked Malawi High Commission and Vodacom for the event.
"Thank you so much to all Malawian's living in Tanzania for trusting in us to entertain people at Malawi Cultural Day event in Dar es Salaam.
"I actually never believed it when I received the request to be the main act at the event.
"Mwinatu timadziyang'anira pansi koma its mostly because corporate events have certain people who are prioritised.
"I have learned so much for performing at this event, and I know my art will benefit a lot from this," Pop Young said.
The event which was sponsored by Vodacom Tanzania had among other activities include traditional dances and exhibitions of local foods.
Young Pop recorded his first song ' Ndakusowa ' in 2016 and that's when the interest developed for him to actually make more music.
With several role models in the entertainment industry, Pop Young inspires to thrive in music business and be recognized beyond the boarders.
